IMPORTANT UPDATE
In light of a number of objections submitted to the local authority this week, we have made the decision to cancel the first ever South Yorkshire Stages Rally, due to take place on 10th December 2023. We are committed to community engagement for this event and have taken seriously the concerns raised by some of the residents in the area.
We would like to thank all of our supporters including the volunteers, residents, out-of-town visitors, Barnsley Council, other key organisations and our sponsor who have supported our planned event, and we are sorry to disappoint those who were looking forward to it.
We are extremely proud to have been involved in developing this project, which would have put Barnsley and Penistoneon the international Motorsport map.

THE RALLY
Whites Bakery South Yorkshire Stages Rally on December 10th will bring around 120 highly tuned rally cars to the fast, flowing roads around the Penistone area. Closed roads rallying is probably the most exciting form of motorsport; taking place on sections of public road that are specially closed to everyday traffic for the occasion, the sight of drivers making lightning-fast reflex corrections on the steering as they push their cars at full speed though corners and down the straights is a never to be forgotten experience!
ABOUT
Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club was founded in 1904, and is one of the oldest Motor Clubs in the UK. Although officially formed in 1904, it’s rumoured that Sheffield & Hallamshire Motor Club was first formed in 1902 as the Sheffield & District Auto Club and had their first meeting on 1st October of that year. After WW2, we founded the Association of Northern Car Clubs with a number of other clubs in the area. The club, and its members, have been involved in almost every aspect of motorsport.
